The 2026 Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Symposium — leading prostate cancer specialists provide up-to-date information on the latest in prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment and research.

MPCC is pleased to announce, “The Next 25 Years: Early Detection, Equal Access, Enduring Impact.” This virtual symposium theme celebrates the 25^th anniversary of MPCC and provides the foundation for four outstanding sessions that will be offered during the event.

Centered on the theme, the symposium will feature sessions highlighting advances in prostate cancer detection, efforts to ensure equitable access to care, and the lasting impact of research and collaboration.

8:35 AM - An Interview with Dr. Anthony Zietman

An Interview with Dr. Anthony Zietman, Shipley Professor of Radiation Oncology, Emeritus, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Join Dr. Anthony Zietman in a discussion of the 15-year UK ProtecT Study and its implications for the treatment of localized prostate cancer, setting the stage for the panel that follows. Dr. Zietman will also reflect on his 40-year career as a radiation oncologist and the many advances that have occurred in the detection and treatment of this disease.

The research, medical practices, and implications of screening for prostate cancer are complicated. Join this panel to learn more about when to start, when to stop, when not to stop, who is eligible and much more.

Panelists are:

Keyan Salari, MD, Ph.D, Massachusetts General Hospital, moderator; Timonthy Johnson, MD, former Chief Medical Correspondent for ABC News; Kevin Kensler, ScD, Weill Cornell Medicine; Mark Preston, MD, MPH, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Treatments for prostate cancer are increasing and improving outcomes. Join this panel to learn more about recent developments — and ask questions.

Panelists are:

David Einstein, MD, Beth Israel Medical Center; Xin Gao, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital; Philip Saylor, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.

10:45 AM - Keynote Presentation

Howard R. Soule, Ph.D. will be interviewed by Adam Feldman, M.D.

Howard R. Soule, Ph.D., was the Chief Science Officer and executive leader of the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) for the past three decades where he coordinated global academic, government and biopharmaceutical sector research activity and was responsible for the implementation of Prostate Cancer Foundation global research strategies. He is also a member of the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program Integration Panel. In addition, Dr. Soule is a Senior Fellow of the Milken Institute, a non-partisan economic think tank and parent organization to FasterCures.

Dr. Adam S. Feldman, MD, MPH, is a urologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Urology. He specializes in the treatment of cancer and related research. Dr. Feldman is a faculty member and Urologic Oncologist in the Department of Urology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and is Director of the Combined Harvard Urologic Oncology Fellowship.
