Ep. 32 – A Conversation With Film Maker Landi Maduro

Published On: February 9th, 2024

Owner of Bluechild Entertainment as well as founder and president of Women of Color Filmmakers, Landi Maduro is the producer of The Silent Killer: Prostate Cancer in the African American Community, a documentary made in 2017. In this second interview for MPCC’s “Prostate Cancer and You” series, she and interviewer Jordan Rich discuss why, seven years later, this film continues to be relevant—and how filmmaking lends itself to discussing and bringing to light the often deadly consequences of avoiding sensitive topics.

Insightful, straight forward, and yet somehow lighthearted, Landi discusses her film, filmmaking, and her own experiences of when prostate cancer was diagnosed in her family. This film is available for churches, community organizations, and other groups; it can also be seen on streaming channels.

This series is brought to you, in part, by a generous grant from Blue Earth Diagnostics.

You can also listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Deezer, TuneIn and with all Android players.
